Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can (8-count) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (optional, for topping)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for serving)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Meat

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or chicken until browned.
  3. Drain excess grease, then stir in taco seasoning and water. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix the cooked taco meat, cream cheese, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese until well combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Bites

  1. Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut into small squares.
  2. Press each square into a greased mini muffin tin, forming a small cup.
  3. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the taco mixture into each dough cup.

Step 4: Bake & Serve

  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and top with green onions, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t Overfill – Keep the filling level so it doesn’t overflow while baking.
Use Pre-Made Dough – Crescent roll dough makes this recipe super easy, but you can also use puff pastry.
Make Ahead – Prep the filling in advance and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
