Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

For the Sourdough Bread:

  • 1 large sourdough loaf, sliced in half or into thick slices
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

For Garnish:

  • Extra Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Garlic Butter Shrimp

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Squeeze in lemon juice and stir in fresh parsley. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Sourdough Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Brush the sourdough slices with softened butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and dried oregano.
  3. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden.

Step 3: Assemble & Bake

  1. Remove the bread from the oven and top with cooked shrimp.
  2. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
  3. Return to the oven and bake for 5 more minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Garnish with extra Parmesan, fresh basil or parsley, and lemon wedges.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Fresh Sourdough – A hearty, crispy loaf holds up best to the toppings.
  • Don’t Overcook the Shrimp – They cook quickly; remove them once they turn pink.
  • Make It Spicier – Add extra red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • Try Different Cheeses – Mozzarella or Gruyère work well for extra cheesiness.
