For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
For the Sourdough Bread:
- 1 large sourdough loaf, sliced in half or into thick slices
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
For Garnish:
- Extra Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Garlic Butter Shrimp
- Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Squeeze in lemon juice and stir in fresh parsley. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Sourdough Bread
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Brush the sourdough slices with softened butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and dried oregano.
- Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden.
Step 3: Assemble & Bake
- Remove the bread from the oven and top with cooked shrimp.
- Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for 5 more minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy
- Garnish with extra Parmesan, fresh basil or parsley, and lemon wedges.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
