- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 ½ cups diced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
Optional Add-ins:
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger for extra warmth
- ¼ cup raisins for a fruity twist
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Pan
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream (or Greek yogurt), mixing until combined.
Step 4: Combine & Fold in Peaches
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently.
- Fold in the diced peaches (and nuts if using).
Step 5: Bake the Peach Bread
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 6: Cool & Serve
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature!
