Ingredients
For the Spaghetti Pie:
-
8 oz spaghetti
-
2 large eggs
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey or chicken)
-
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
-
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
For Garnish:
-
Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
-
Extra Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or deep-dish pan.
Step 2: Cook the Spaghetti
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking.
Step 3: Make the Spaghetti “Crust”
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and Parmesan cheese.
Add the cooked spaghetti to the egg mixture and toss to coat.
Transfer the spaghetti mixture to the prepared pie dish, pressing it down and up the sides to form a crust.
Step 4: Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors blend.
Step 5: Assemble the Pie
Spoon the meat sauce over the spaghetti crust.
Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Step 6: Bake
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the spaghetti are slightly crispy.
Step 7: Cool and Serve
Let the spaghetti pie cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and a sprinkle of extra Parmesan.
Notes
Press the Crust Firmly – Helps the spaghetti hold together when sliced.
Drain the Meat Well – Prevents a soggy pie.
Let It Cool Slightly – Slicing is easier once it has set a bit.
Customize – Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
