Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- Chicken Breast (2, sliced thinly) – Juicy and protein-packed.
- Cajun Seasoning (1 tbsp) – Adds bold, smoky flavor.
- Olive Oil (2 tbsp) – Helps achieve a perfect sear.
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced) – Enhances the flavor.
For the Pasta & Sauce:
- Pasta (12 oz, fettuccine or penne) – Holds the creamy sauce well.
- Butter (2 tbsp) – Adds richness to the sauce.
- Heavy Cream (1 ½ cups) – Makes the sauce smooth and creamy.
- Parmesan Cheese (¾ cup, grated) – Adds a nutty, salty depth.
- Chicken Broth (½ cup) – Helps thin the sauce while adding flavor.
- Bell Pepper (1, sliced, any color) – Adds a pop of color and sweetness.
- Onion (½, sliced thinly) – A little extra bite.
- Salt & Black Pepper (to taste) – Essential seasonings.
- Fresh Parsley (for garnish) – A fresh, vibrant finish.
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Season the sliced chicken breast with Cajun seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt. Pour in the chicken broth, followed by the heavy cream. Stir well and let simmer for 2 minutes. Slowly whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, followed by the drained pasta. Toss everything together until well coated in the creamy Cajun sauce.
Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the Spice: For more heat, add extra Cajun seasoning or red pepper flakes. For a milder dish, reduce the seasoning.
- Use Fresh Parmesan: Pre-grated cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly into the sauce.
- Try Different Proteins: Swap the chicken for shrimp or turkey for a twist.
- Make It Lighter: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
