Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 oz) container sour cream
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled beef sausage (or shredded rotisserie chicken)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Ingredients

  1. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, Rotel, shredded cheese, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Stir in the crumbled beef sausage (or shredded chicken) and mix well.

Step 2: Chill the Dip

  1. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Step 3: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Stir the dip before serving.
  2. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, if desired.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

  • Use Freshly Shredded Cheese: Pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents that can affect texture—freshly shredded melts better!
  • Drain the Rotel Well: Too much liquid will make the dip watery.
  • Chill for Maximum Flavor: Letting it sit for at least 30 minutes (or even overnight) allows the flavors to develop.
  • Customize the Spice Level: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños for extra heat.
