  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Onion Rings

  • Peel and slice the onion into ½-inch thick rings.
  • Separate the rings and set aside.

Step 2: Set Up Breading Stations

  • In one bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • In a second bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  • In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

Step 3: Coat the Onion Rings

  • Dredge each onion ring in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  • Dip into the egg mixture, making sure it’s fully coated.
  • Press into the panko mixture, ensuring a thick, even coating.

Step 4: Air Fry the Onion Rings

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Arrange onion rings in a single layer, leaving space between them.
  • Lightly spray the tops of the onion rings with oil for extra crispiness.
  • Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

  • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
